Electronica: second Sighting.

Electronica refers to a wide range of contemporary electronic music designed for a wide range of uses, including foreground listening, some forms of dancing, and background music for other activities; but unlike electronic dance music, it is not specifically made for dancing. The term was first used in the United States in the early 1990s with regards to post-rave global-influenced electronic dance music. Genres such as techno, drum and bass, downtempo, and ambient are among those encompassed by the umbrella term, entering the American mainstream from "alternative" or "underground" venues during the late 1990s. Prior to the adoption of electronica for this purpose, terms such as electronic listening music, trance and intelligent dance music (IDM) were used. The All Music Guide categorizes electronica as a top-level genre on their main page, where they state that electronica includes "dozens of stylistic fusions" ranging from danceable grooves to music for headphones and chillout areas. After beginning as an underground genre in the early 1990s, electronica has grown to influence even mainstream crossover recordings, with one prominent example being Madonna's 2005 Confessions on a Dancefloor, that sold more than 8 million copies worldwide, and debuted at number one in 29 different countries, a world record for a solo artist. Elements of electronica are used today by many popular artists in mainstream music.

AIR.

Air is a French (from region Île-de-France) music duo, consisting of Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel. The name Air is a backronym for Amour, Imagination, Rêve which translates to Love, Imagination, Dream. Air's debut EP, Premiers Symptômes, was followed by the critically acclaimed album Moon Safari, the re-release of Premiers Symptômes, The Virgin Suicides (soundtrack), 10 000 Hz Legend, Everybody Hertz, Talkie Walkie and Pocket Symphony.

Fila Brazillia.

Steve Cobby and Dave McSherry are Fila Brazillia and that's about all we need to know. The music speaks for its self and that, it seems, is the way the band likes it. An underground following is building for this group, who may be known more for their remixes than actual album recordings on the U.K. label Pork. This will change! Remixes for the likes of Radiohead, Busta Rhymes, Unkle and Mixmaster Morris (complete listing can be found at http://www.pork.co.uk/html/info.html) to name a few have resulted in tracks that always bring a new twist on the original. Their remix of "Awesome Wells" turns the song into a down tempo shuffle full of the funk you would expect from a Fila mix! Check out their new label Tritone and web site at www.tritone.co.uk. You can even peep a 360-degree view of their stuido set up.

Leftfield.

Leftfield were a duo of electronica artists and record producers, Paul Daley (formerly of The Rivals, A Man Called Adam and the Brand New Heavies) and Neil Barnes, formed in 1989 in London, England. The name Leftfield was originally used simply by Neil Barnes for the first single Not Forgotten but after this Paul Daley was involved firstly in remixing songs and then in the creation of following music. The pair were pioneers in the fields of intelligent dance music and progressive house, being among the first to fuse house music with dub and reggae. They furthermore were among the first electronic musicians to incorporate live guest vocalists, along with The Chemical Brothers and Underworld. Ultimately the duo have been influential on the electronic genre as a whole, with The Crystal Method's Scott Kirkland referring to them in 2005 as "The best Electronic band, period

I didn't have any problems on my visits over here, last night or today! Guess I came through at a "good" time? I wonder why it is having momentary glitches...I noticed my widget wanted to stop playing after a bit and I would have to reapply it.

It was late last night when it stopped working B.. I think that is when I seem to have most problems they may still be tweaking their system.

hey you, I missed you tonight. I hope you have a great birthday tomorrow, which is just a few minutes from now actually at almost a quarter till midnight. I still love this playlist by the way! Did you get your new monitor?

say ... heard this one? ...

A man takes the day off work and decides to go out golfing. He is on the second hole when he notices a frog sitting next to the green. He thinks nothing of it and is about to shoot when he hears, "Ribbit. 9 iron." The man looks around and doesn't see snyone so he tries again. "Ribbit. 9 iron." He looks at the frog and decides to prove the frog wrong, puts his other club away, and grabs a 9 iron. Boom! He hits a birdie. He is shocked. He says to the frog, "Wow, that's amazing. You must be a luck frog, eh?" The frog reply's "Ribbit. Lucky frog. Lucky frog."

The man decides to take the frog with him to the next hole. "What do you think, frog?", the man asks. "Ribbit. wood." was the reply. The guy takes out a wood and - Boom! - a hole in one. The man is befuddled and doesn't know what to say. By the end of the day, the man golfed the best game of golf in his life and asks the frog, "OK...where to next?" The frog replies, "Ribbit Las vegas".

They go to Las Vegas and the guy says, "OK frog, now what?" The frog says "Ribbit roulette." Upon approaching the table the man asks. "What do you think I should bet?" The frog replies, "Ribbit $3000 black 6." Now, this is a million to one shot that this would win but after the golf game. the man figures what the heck. Boom! Tons of cash come sliding back across the table. The man takes his winnings and buys the best room in the hotel. He sits the frog down and says, "Frog, I don't know how to repay you. You win me all this money and I am forever greatful." The frog replies, "Ribbit Kiss me." The man figures why not, since after all the frog did for him he deserves it. All of a sudden the frog turns into the most gorgeous 16 year old girl in the world.

"And that, your honour, is how the girl ended up in my room".

sounds like a fairytale to me!

and again, Happy Birthday to you! It's nice to have you as a blog buddy!
