Thievery Corporation..

Thievery Corporation is a Washington, D.C.-based production and DJ duo consisting of Rob Garza and Eric Hilton and their supporting artists. Their music style is dub, acid jazz, Indian classical and Brazilian (such as bossa nova) fused together with a lounge aesthetic. Thievery Corporation is on the Eighteenth Street Lounge Music record label named after the swank DC lounge partly owned by Eric Hilton, but several of their singles and EPs appear on the 4AD and !K7 labels.
In 2002, they released The Richest Man in Babylon on their ESL label. This fifteen track album is similar in sound and timbre to The Mirror Conspiracy and features performances by vocalists Emiliana Torrini, Pam Bricker, and Lou-Lou. In 2005 they released The Cosmic Game, which has a darker, more psychedelic sound than The Richest Man in Babylon. The album also featured more high-profile guest singers on it, including Perry Farrell, David Byrne and Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips. In 2006, the group released Versions, a selection of remixes done by Thievery Corporation for other artists and toured the United States, playing at Lollapalooza. The language of the group's lyrics are as diverse as English, Spanish, French, Persian, Portuguese, Romanian and Hindi. This reflects the group's global feel and collaborative structure.

Juno Reactor.

Juno Reactor is a musical and performing act known for the cinematic-psychedelic fusion of electronic and global music, the Matrix score and other film works. Central to the project are Ben Watkins, Mike McGuire and Stephane Holweck, and their collaborations with a constantly changing ensemble of musicians from across the world, including percussionist Mabi Thobejane from South Africa along with countrymen Amampondo, Eduardo Niebla, Steve Stevens, Greg Ellis, Taz Alexander and recently Ghetto Priest.Originally Juno Reactor was formed as an art project in 1990; Ben Watkins wanted to collaborate with other artists to produce and be involved in exciting projects that were not commercially driven. He wanted to create experimental music/non musical soundtracks that would work with installations, art pieces and film projects.

Portishead.

Portishead formed in Bristol, England in 1991 and is credited with being one of the first bands to popularize the trip-hop genre. Their seminal 1994 album, Dummy, brought trip-hop to the British mainstream and introduced the music to the American "alternative" scene.
The band is named after the town where founder Geoff Barrow grew up. At the dawn of the '90s, Barrow was making a name for himself as a remixer, working with such artists as Primal Scream, Paul Weller and Depeche Mode. In addition, Barrow had produced a track for Tricky and written songs for Neneh Cherry. Aided by a financial grant, Barrow formed Portishead with vocalist Beth Gibbons, guitarist Adrian Utley and drummer Dave MacDonald. The band's first project was not an album but the short film To Kill a Dead Man. Barrow and Gibbons wrote and acted in the film; Portishead provided the soundtrack. The project attracted the interest of several record companies, including Go!Beat, which signed the band mostly on Barrow's skill as a remixer.

Portishead's first album for Go! was Dummy, released in 1994. Promoting the album, however, was a big challenge for the label, as Barrow and Gibbons refused to do interviews and had no interest in touring. Go! was forced to tap all its creative-marketing resources, coming up with a campaign involving promotional mannequins ("dummies") displayed in various London locations. In addition, Portishead's videos for tracks like "Sour Times" and "Glory Box" created memorable visuals. Dummy received immense critical praise in England, topping many album-of-the-year lists.

 Saturday's New Home.

Sometimes The best things just happen by accident. an idea that just gets inside your head and won't let you be until you flesh it out. it may take many forms until the right one takes shape, but when it does you just know when to leave it alone and let it find its own place.

See now. I don't have a crystal ball, so I don't know if something will work until I at least try it. so here it be.

I just want a place where Everyone is welcome to come and think.. to feel.. to be as different as they dare to be. A place where Music will be as different as any person. this will be the place.

Welcome to Scratch Radio.. where Saturday nights come to life.
